New Leaf is an educational support service nestling in St Paul's Square, a leafy suburb of Burton on Trent. 

We provide part time support for students who are unable to cope or thrive in mainstream education. We are able to provide bespoke placements for education and SEMH support.   

From September we are launching our Post 16 "college feel" courses specifically aimed at Post 16 students with SEND or with an EHCP, who are unable to transition straight to college or apprenticeships due to anxiety.  Our Clover and Maple courses are bespoke one year EOTAS Pathway programmes. Our specialism is working with anxiety related conditions which may be associated with autism, ADHD, trauma or persistent non-attendance due to generalised anxiety following the Covid-19 Lockdown.

Our intensive support hub within New Leaf is an annexed suite that is reserved for students who may initially require more nurture than education. This gentle and steady approach honours those whose main need is mental health support and confidence building. This person centred approach builds trust and rapport with staff and enables students to feel better about themselves before then starting the journey to re-engage with education.

We are proud to support students on EOTAS programmes from Local Authorities such as Staffordshire County Council, Derby City Council and South Derbyshire County Council. 

Schools can also request placements directly and SENCo's should initially make contact to discuss needs. We welcome enquiries from all professionals involved in getting the best outcome for young people in their care.

Once a placement has been confirmed service users will be given access to the Compliancy Page where all due diligence documents can be immediately downloaded including our Safeguarding Policy, DBS Certificate numbers, Insurances and a letter of assurance regarding our vetting procedures.
